Jules Jordan considers Ass Worship a special occasion.It’s why he rarely releases more than one volume per year of his signature
DVD series. His latest creation, the 11th in a line that started in 2001, will rank No. 1
on AVN’s weekly Retail Buzz sales chart that will be published today on AVN.com. The
mark is a record for a single series as each of the past 10 editions of Ass Worship have
also reached the top spot on the chart that tracks the best-selling movies in the country.
“I put those out like once a year so I don’t
dilute it,” Jordan said. “It’s been such a copied thing. It gets a little
crazy with everybody doing their renditions. But I keep the demand up.”
Because of the series’ reputation, Jordan often will
reserve “firsts” for any given volume, and this one was no exception.
“Jenny Hendrix does a three-guy scene, and she’s
never done that before,” Jordan said. “Sarah Vandella did her first anal with
James Deen; Lisa Ann did her first d.p. and anal creampie; and Alexis Texas did her first
anal creampie.
“With the girls, it’s always got to be an
A-quality cast for Ass Worship and I always try to have something new and different. I
definitely like to pick up the pace with the girls if the talent lets me.”
The title also includes performances by Kristina Rose and
Phoenix Marie, who stepped in front of Jordan's camera for the first time, calling it
“an honor.”
“She proved herself to be an anal champion. She is one
to watch on the anal front,” he said. “She is pretty indestructible with her
ass. It will be interesting to shoot her some more. She worked with a real big guy, Criss
Strokes, and took a lot of interesting toys in her ass as well.”
Marie, who began her porn career in October ‘07,
remembers joking with Jordan about her anal prowess before the scene.
“He told me, ‘there’s a rumor that your ass
is indestructible,’” she recalled. “I said, ‘Put it this way... I
haven’t met anyone or anything I couldn’t take, so we’re going to try
this.’”
She said her prior chemistry with Strokes definitely
increased the intensity of the scene.
“It flowed so perfect, and we just had fun, he’s
awesome,” Marie said. “One-hundred percent I had no insecurities. Obviously,
I’m not a small girl, but I had no worries of that. I heard how well he shoots, and
his stills were awesome. It was fun, energetic and he officially declared my ass
indestructible.”
Jordan shot the original Ass Worship in 2001 not long after
he joined the stable of producer/directors at Evil Angel, where he remained until
branching out on his own in January, '06. Since its debut the line has won seven different
AVN awards, including a three-peat for Best Anal-Themed Series from 2003-05, and three
Best Anal-Themed Release trophies for AW4 (2004), AW7 (‘06) and AW10 (’08). In
'06, Katsuni also earned the AVN award for Best Tease Performance for her scene in AW7.
“This is the staple of my line of movies,” Jordan
said. “This is always the best-seller and wins the most awards and gets the most
amount of fan comments and stuff like that. And it all started back in 2001 with
Belladonna in Ass Worship 1. That was the first one I put out through Evil Angel.”
He continued, “It’s hard to believe in almost 10
years there’s only been 11 volumes of it. Usually the way the market is, the series
would be up to No. 50, but it has such a strong brand that I don’t want to dilute it.
Re-orders are incredible on this line in particular.”
