New Sensations' Digital Sin label has released The Trouble With Girls, a new all-girl
gonzo opus from director Dana Vespoli. In stores Thursday, the title stars Eva Angelina,
Lexi Bardot, Alektra Blue, Jennifer Dark, Gianna, Jenna Haze, Lindsay Meadows, Annette
Schwarz and Shyla Stylez.
"It's the first all-girl movie I've done," said Vespoli, who recently won
Adam Film World's Directrix of the Year award. "I like to shoot vignettes, and
I like strange, psychological, altered-state elements. In this one, the first three
vignettes tell a story, and the last two scenes are their own little scenarios." One of Vespoli's favorite scenes in the
movie features Annette Schwarz and Gianna in a fantasy sequence involving a hallucinogenic
sex-drug.
"I think the standout girls in
the movie were Annette and Gianna," Vespoli said. "Those two were amazing.
I'm normally not into solo scenes with girls getting themselves off but Annette did
an incredible scene playing with these toys; even in editing, I was mesmerized. I could
watch that over and over again- she's so real, and so into it."
Vespoli, who is also an X-rated
performer, started directing in January 2006. Since her directorial debut Cock Starved,
she has gone on to helm Dirty Little Stories and the underrated Filth and Fury. She
credits New Sensations' Scott Taylor for giving her the opportunity to step behind the
camera.
"I had worked so much for New
Sensations [as a performer] that I felt comfortable enough to approach Scott Taylor about
shooting," Vespoli said. "I have to say that I was real fortunate that [New
Sensations] was one of the first companies I worked for as a performer, and it was always
my favorite company. Scott is great...without his help, I wouldn't be shooting now. He's
really open, easy to talk to, and gave me a lot of great advice. I've improved a lot since
the first stuff I did, which was more basic gonzo. As a fan of adult, the stuff I've
liked has always had a cerebral element."
